Synopsis: This surprising sequal of "MutantWorld" is a story about Dimentia. Dimentia is not son, but daughter of now old Dimento. She has got a pet bear, when she looses her father. Though the world is still post-global-holocaustic and violent, there exists some old people. Old hunter has got a very young boy, who he is teaching the surviving skills. The end of the world prophet, Hurshul, in this story is a young warrior who travels with airballoon and two headed bird (cf. beginning of Bludd!). This desperate world has got only one barely surviving fortress, which is under constant attacks by Mudhead troopers. The fortress is run by Max, whose wife was dead seven years before. He has got a simple cook Dorra, in who he is in love with (cf. Pucca in Den's Adventures). The hiding fortress has got only two major advances: it is on an island and it is surrounded by flesh-eating plants. Though plants are active only at night.
Comment: Jan Strnad, who fell in love with the story "Mutant World", wrote a sequal for it. These two stories has not much similarities, which is nice: it is not a rerun of an old favourite tale. It is not called Daughter of Mutant World, as it suppoused to be, because story is about Dimento's female offspring. The odd choose of name is not bad, son rimes better and it is shorter and sharper. Story has got enough variable characters, but it is too much focused on the small circles, everything is around the fortress. "Mutant World" had got more larger story place. A charachter development during story is good. Mr. Corben does a good work, as we remember that he is doing an ongoing serial. It was shame he was forced to drop colors for the end of the serial. I think that Mr. Corben can create a marvelous B&W art work, but here it is visible that the whole story was planned to be in color till the very end. The story was never published entirely in color and as an one book edition in English: to get complete trade back version you have to find out European translation version (I have no idea of Asian or other continent editions).
Extras: The Jan Strnad interview (February, March 2001).
