"Flys"

5 pgs. Appeared first time in Hot Stuf' #1 (1974). Reprinted in Richard Corben's Funny Book (1976).
Story-Ed Faust. Art-Richard Corben (in Hot Stuf' version, written sign © 1973 Richard V. Corben). Lettered by hand (Corben).

In France: as "Les mauches" (misspelled!) in Razar le lâche (1976), and as "Les mouches" in Ère comprimée #7.
In Germany: as "Fliegen" in Wer ist Richard Corben? (1982).
In Italy: as "Moschi" in Cannibale #13 (1979).
In Spain: as "Moscas" in 1984 [SPA] #10 and Richard Corben obras completas #11.

Keywords: Flies. Missing persons. Aliens. Female humanoids. Plants.
Synopsis: Pete and Bart are in a search of non-hostile planets (there is no straight mention of the nature of their work). They are about to leave, but two of their colleagues, Potter and Captain, are missing, and they can find just their clothes.
Comment: Ed Faust's one joke story has interesting flow, though extented ending is not surprising. Corben's art is perfect till the end. Planet has highly intereting flora all over. There is everywhere feminine curves, ovals and arcs. Animals are few, though a lot of flies. Artwork support story 100%.
Special note: There is bottom of first page writing, * Note. "flys" is an alien spelling of "flies.", but that has no clear reference to the story, since there is no alien language used. Except Pete's last notice, though it has no significance of spelling.
